Move over Starbucks! You can make your own pumpkin spice latte mix right at home with this recipe and it's so much easier than you think! This recipe is perfect for the holidays, and it'll save you money, too. Give this easy DIY a try today!
One of the reasons why this recipe took so long to develop was because I wanted to get the ratios of ingredients just right so I could make a pumpkin spice that tastes just like it does at the coffee shops. This is as close to the Starbucks version as you can get, but made at home!
This pumpkin spice latte mix recipe calls for a combination of instant espresso powder, some powdered coffee creamer, French vanilla powdered drink mix, sugar and of course some pumpkin spice and a little bit of cinnamon.
Once your pumpkin spice latte craving hits, all you have to do is:In a large mug add 2 heaping tbsps of the mix to a little over 1 cup of hot water (with a little milk or cream if you like) and stir.
Serve immediately, top with whipped cream if desired. If you want a stronger pumpkin flavor, add more mix to your latte. You can also experiment with using different types of milk, such as almond or soy milk, to create a delicious dairy free latte. Enjoy!
After much testing of the ratios for this pumpkin spice latte mix, I recommend staying as close to the the ratios/measurements for this recipe as possible; otherwise, you may end up with a latte that tastes too watered down or not strong enough.
Add more fresh Cream: The recipe for this mix includes powdered coffee creamer however if you'd like a richer taste, you can add a little fresh cream to your cup along with the hot water when you mix in your instant pumpkin spice latte mix.
Add more coffee/espresso: The recipe for this mix includes espresso powder, however, if you'd like a stronger drink, you can add a little fresh brewed coffee or espresso to your cup along with the hot water when you mix in your instant pumpkin spice latte mix. Try adding half hot coffee and half hot water in your mug and combine with the powdered mix! Yum!
Add pumpkin: A typical pumpkin spice latte does not use any actual pumpkin in it, but that doesn't mean you can't make it extra special by using some actual pumpkin in the form of pumpkin puree. You can boost and compliment the existing flavor by adding a little bit of pumpkin purée to your latte.
The best homemade pumpkin spice latte made with real pumpkin puree and cozy pumpkin pie spice. You'll love this naturally sweetened, dairy free pumpkin spice latte recipe for your morning coffee or a delicious afternoon pick-me-up!
For the pumpkin pie spice: if you don't have any pre-mixed pumpkin pie spice, feel free to add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon ginger and 1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves or allspice.
cant wait to make this soon for me i never had pumpkin spice latte before and all starbucks stores here in Singapore started selling psl again perfect for raining days in Singapore love your recipes as always brightens up my day everyday after work
Not a fan. Way too much spice for the volume of liquid. I guess my expectations were that it resembled the smoothness and taste of the servings prepared by the retail coffee outlets which I guess cannot be matched as they use a ready made syrup. It does taste better when the spice settles.

The moment Fall hits, we rush to our local coffee shop and order a pumpkin spice latte. We love them so much, we took it upon ourselves to try making it at home. This recipe is easy and I bet you have most, if not everything, you need to make it at home right now. It also comes together in under 10 minutes!
We add the pumpkin puree as is, but some of our readers have complained that there is not enough pumpkin flavor in the latte. To battle this, you can simmer puree in a saucepan until it has reduced down by 1/3. This step will intensify the pumpkin flavor.
ReplyHelgaOctober 25, 2022, 12:58 amThis is actually Very Good. I used 3 tablespoons of pumpkin and 2 tablespoons of sugar. I made homemade whipped cream just for this recipe and I was definitely Not disappointed. I will be making these at home from now on. Thank You for the delicious recipe.

One of the signs that Fall is here is when Starbucks adds its popular pumpkin spice lattes to its seasonal menu. No doubt, a freshly brewed latte is the absolute best. A tasty, convenient, and economical alternative is to make a pumpkin spice latte from an instant dry mix. In fact, Starbucks sells a dry mix. I've created a homemade version that is very similar and is way less expensive. It makes a great seasonal gift, too! Look for printable labels further down in this post.
I previously posted a similar recipe for Vanilla Latte Instant Dry Mix. This pumpkin spice version is essentially the same recipe with the addition of a blend of seasonal spices. It can be made vegan by substituting dry coconut or soy dry milk for the dairy dry milk.
In addition to the above ingredients, the dominant flavor in this mix is, of course, pumpkin spice. You can make your own spice blend using my recipe, or purchase it on Amazon or at your grocery store.
Make it a gift! Fill a mason jar with dry latte mix, label it, and you've got a homemade gift to give. Give the jar of mix alone or nest it inside a latte mug. These make ideal gifts for hosts/hostesses, teachers, co-workers, college students, neighbors and friends.
The biggest difference between the original version by Starbucks and the homemade version of this latte is simple to identify: genuine ingredients. We cannot be sure, but the making of the syrup in a big company is different from the making of the syrup at home for obvious and understandable reasons: industrially and bulk-made syrup contains more refined and artificial ingredients than homemade syrup. And this means that making the pumpkin spice latte at home using homemade and genuine ingredients is key to getting a lovely and healthier beverage.
ENDLESS OPTIONS: Mix latte with chocolate syrup to make a pumpkin spice mocha or try freezing it in an ice cube tray for ready-to-blend Frappuccino cubes. Go beyond drinks\\u2014use this blend in baking to make cookies, cakes, and muffins.
There's something about a pumpkin spice latte that just screams Fall! Maybe it's the rich, pumpkin flavor or the warm spices that remind us of cozy fires and falling leaves. Whatever the reason, pumpkin spice lattes have become a fall staple for coffee lovers across the country. Read on for a quick recipe to make homemade pumpkin spice latte (as well as some fun variations!)
Your pumpkin spice latte will be ready in two to three steps. First, make the homemade whipped cream (if you're making this fresh), then make the pumpkin mixture, and then finally assemble the latte. I've included tips here on how you can make a large batch of the pumpkin syrup too!
I don't recommend storing the pumpkin spice latte once it's made. However, you can make the pumpkin syrup in a large batch and store that in the fridge for up to one week at a time. This way, you can just grab a spoonful (or two!) along with milk and coffee and have a pumpkin spice latte in no time. Try it along with these delicious black walnut, chocolate malt cookies or this Rumchata pound cake and you won't regret it.
One of the best tricks for the Fall is to make the pumpkin mixture in a larger batch and then sneak in a couple of tablespoons into your coffee. To do this, combine equal parts pumpkin purée and maple syrup with vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice and whisk until combined. Store this in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week!
Pumpkin spiced latte is my favorite come fall. In fact all year round! Why do they stop making them after fallThis was just perfect. I loved the sweetness of the maple...I did add a little extra as I like them sweet. Soi happy to make them at home
A hot mug of pumpkin spice latte warms your hands when you snuggle up to the cup and heats your insides as you sip on the delicious beverage. Best of all, this Mason Jar pumpkin spice latte mix is simple enough that anybody can put it together.
In years past, I made a homemade hot cocoa mix, that is delicious and super rich. After a bit of testing, I arrived at the recipe below. This Mason jar pumpkin spice latte mix is so close to the fancy shop lattes!
This would actually make for a really nice gift. I am invited to a dinner next week and have been on the lookout for something small, fall-like! This pumpkin spice mix in a cute little mason jar would be perfect and I love the layered look!
Heat the pumpkin and spices. Place the pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, and a generous helping of black pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until it's hot and smells cooked, about 2 minutes.
Mix the drinks. Make the espresso or coffee and divide between 2 mugs. Add the frothed milk and pumpkin mixture. Top with the whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, or nutmeg if desired.
Make a big batch of pumpkin spice base: If you like, you can make a big batch of the pumpkin spice base, and refrigerate. To make 8 full servings, cook 1/2 cup pumpkin purée with 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Stir in 1/2 cup vanilla extract. Refrigerate for up to 1 week and use as desired. To serve, blend 1/3 cup pumpkin spice base with milk until frothy, and add 1 or 2 shots of espresso. Top with whipped cream and serve. 59ce067264
