Combined Heat & Power

EnviroGen Energy Modules
Four cogeneration units installed at John Muir Medical Center with heat recovery and an absorption chiller.

E3 NV’s EnviroGen Energy Modules are the ultimate in efficiency and ease-of-use when it comes to combined heat & power (CHP) applications. These self-contained miniature power plants deliver highly consistent levels of ultra-clean combined heat power with minimal noise and emissions. Though packaged to eliminate exposure to outside elements, these modules are surprisingly easy to access when service or maintenance is needed.

Our EnviroGen Modules combine heat and electrical generation in order to reduce your carbon footprint and save money. You can read more about cogeneration as well as combined heat and power by clicking here!
When your energy needs call for more than one module, our unique skid delivery system allows us to place multiple units on one platform–maximizing performance while minimizing space requirements.

Our cogens can be configured to provide power only to your property or sync with the utility companies and sell excess electricity. Our cogens are designed to run at all times, with little to no maintenance, so that your power needs are always satisfied. These can also replace backup or standby generator systems with far more reliable continuous cogens. Cogens can also be used at data centers where the utility cannot supply enough power or where cooling needs cannot be met economically due to a lack of water for evaporative or adiabatic cooling.

Below we’ve outlined some of the features of our combined heat and power EnviroGen Energy Modules:

Commitment to Quality

Here at E3 we want to our customers to know that they are in good hands. We want you to understand that we stand behind our products. That is why we offer evaluations to determine is cogeneration can work for you. If we claim we can save you 20% on your energy bill, we will guarantee it, if your facility can only save 12% we will be transparent and help you figure out if it is still a sound investment for your business.

Our commitment to quality also extends to the equipment we use. We choose Caterpillar because it has given the greatest return on investment for our customers. The reliability of CAT means less downtime and less maintenance.

This culminates in a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and the greatest Return on Investment (ROI). We have CAT-based cogens that have nearly 60,000 run hours that are still operational.

Door & Panels

The doors, panels, and roof are easy to remove for quick, cheap and easy maintenance. The roof is angled so that rain does not accumulate on top. Between the insulation, the engine silencer, the sound attenuated cabinet and sound-eliminating air ducts, these are some of the quietest cogens on the market, this makes them ideal for use at hotels as well as in residential areas.

Exhaust & After-treatment

Our stainless steel exhaust system resists corrosion, so you save money in the long run. All of our systems have their emissions treated so they emit extremely low amounts of NOx, Carbon Monoxide, and other dangerous pollutants. Caterpillar low-emission engines fueled by natural gas, diesel or biogas. Coal-fired power plants produce up to 2 lbs of Carbon Dioxide per kWh, the average natural gas engine emits 1.1 lbs per kWh, but our natural gas cogens only emit 0.8 lbs of Carbon Dioxide per kWh.

GenView™ Control System

The GenView Control System is E3's solution to remote system monitoring and control. The software allows for precision control over the engine as well as pumps, boilers, and chillers. It is because cogeneration systems involve many separate pieces of equipment, that most modern cogeneration systems require human interaction, but with our GenView Control System, we can monitor and control a wide variety of complex machinery via an internet connection. It’s like having trained staff on-hand 24/7 for a fraction of the cost.

Here at E3 NV we know that every site is different, and every set of needs is unique, so we are prepared to modify a system just for your needs. If a cogeneration system will save you money, contact E3 NV @ 775.246.8111 today!
